Our boys are 6 years apart, so while I was sorry they weren't thick as thieves as brothers together then (my brothers were 2 years apart and and were -- and still are -- very close), it was nice that they each did their own thing. Now that they are grown up, I love the relationship they have - which they continue to hammer out in a good way. The weirdest part about having them so far apart is that in a very fundamental way they had "different" parents -- and what Luke remembers about being little Thomas wasn't part of. That kind of makes me sad! OTOH, Thomas benefited from our being much more relaxed, and I'm bettin' Luke thinks he got away with murder most of the time. ;-) These things work themselves out — stop WORRYING!!!

I had actually been on somewhat of a coffee fast, but have been drinking a lot more lately. I thought it was just stress, but you may have a point. I have never liked math or anything that involves math. I like subjects where all you have to do is remember things and you are good at it (i.e. history, geography). Death to math! Also I am so with you on the excitement about 'no math this semester', only I'm screwed because my Quantitative Decision Making class is pretty much ALL math (cost benefit analysis, etc...)...If math were a location, I wouldn't be able to find my way out with a map, a compass, one of those flashlights that you crank so it doesn't need batteries, and a Powhatan Indian guide.
